3. In the Night Kitchen, Maurice Sendak
Another bedtime favourite. I like Where the Wild Things Are, but I really really like the airplane made of dough in this one. And the willy.

4. What Do People Do All Day?, Richard Scarry
This is an important question that I think everyone, even big people, would love properly answered. This book is FULL of things to point at and new words to learn. Tops for vocabulary building.

Honourable mentions

H.O.U.S.E., Aleksandra Machowiak and Daniel Mizielinski
If Gaudi hasn’t already convinced me that I need to be an architect, this book will. I now know how to make sand houses, igloos and set up solar panels.

Everybody Poops, Taro Gomi
This is reassuring. And funny.

Green Eggs and Ham, Dr. Seuss
If you ever needed a lesson in persistance…

Diary of a Wombat, Jackie French
I was initially skeptical of the authenticity of a diary written by a wombat. And then someone asked me how I started writing this blog when I was seven months old. I just did, OK?
