Day 1: Sleeping in a London bus

We’ve had patchy internet at best – currently on Day 9 but sharing retrospectively a few photos from our first day on the road.

Day 1: drove out of Sydney, through the Blue Mountains and just north of Bathurst to a unique, privately owned park, “Artisans Park“, where we slept in a converted 1949 London Bus overlooking a beautiful valley. The bus was acquired and converted by a builder/sculptor whose property was once home to a slew of kooky things he built to sleep in (a rocket, a UFO) but it all got too busy for him and he’s since pared it back to just the bus. Great way to start the journey.

We stayed at the big red London bus and I played in a rocket and on the swings and it was my favourite.

Wow Marshall! I can not believe it! My parents live just up the road from that big red bus and I had no idea it was there! We are definitely going to have to stay there when we go home at Easter… My three boys will LOVE it don’t you think? Thanks for sharing!

They sure will! There was also a whole playground! The bus may be tight with three boys + parents but talk to the owner as they may have other accommodation options on the property in addition to the bus. It was so great! xo

Show me some love xo
